This presentation will include a discussion of the recent changes to the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act (IMDMA), that went into effect on January 1, 2016.  The topics covered will include maintenance, child support, changes to property definitions and significant changes to formerly “child custody” provisions of the and the new “allocation of parenting time and responsibilities” nomenclature.  We will also discuss new college contribution guidelines and the use of prenuptial agreements and estate planning within divorce agreements.  All of these subject matters will be discussed and presented in a manner which specifically addresses the concerns and interest of estate planning professionals and how the topics affect estate planning and/or can be affected by estate planning.
