After a short review of Estate, Generation Skipping and Gift Taxes, the presentation will discuss various types of lifetime gifts. This part of the presentation will include the ramifications of basis and capital gains. The next portion of the presentation will address various vehicles for those charitably inclined, including private foundations and donor advised funds. The presentation will also address the formation and gifts of interests in LLCs and family limited partnerships, particularly as they relate to the transfer of closely held business interests.  This portion of the presentation will also include a discussion of the recently finalized Section 7520 regulations. The presentation will then address the various gifting opportunities resulting from the current low interest rates. This includes Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts, Qualified Personal Residence Trusts, sales to defective grantor trusts and intra family loans. The presentation will conclude with a discussion of the various uses of life insurance to transfer wealth.
