Description: Presenters will provide an overview of the art market from 2003 to present and a comparison of the IRS Art Advisory Panel reports (2016 vs. 2017). The following factors and considerations will also be addressed:

  • Valuing art
  • Determining authenticity
  • Lifetime planning considerations, e.g. sales and use tax, estate considerations, lending against art, the elimination of 1031 Exchanges, and others
  • Estate considerations, e.g., valuation discounts, stolen material and restricted material, representations and warranties of sale, and others
