AI is everywhere, and so is the confusion. This practical overview cuts through the hype and gives attorneys a clear, usable framework for adopting AI responsibly. We will translate the latest professional guidance into real-world practice standards. You will leave with a “do-this-now” action plan that includes how to choose tools based on data sensitivity, implement an internal AI use policy, document AI-assisted work, and verify outputs to avoid hallucinated citations and factual errors. You will also see law-firm-ready use cases and some easy five-minute wins.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding: Explain how generative AI tools function at a high level and identify common use cases in legal practice, including research, drafting, and internal operations.

  • Applying: Identify best-practice guidelines and ethical safeguards when using AI tools in legal workflows to protect client confidentiality and comply with professional responsibility rules.
